Fantastic sandy beaches
Fantastic sandy beaches, fascinating mountain landscapes, unique bays in the Atlantic Ocean and always warm temperatures characterize this wonderful island in the Atlantic Ocean. Fuerteventura is the second biggest of the Canarian archipelago, which was originated more than 20 million years ago by volcanic activities and therewith, it is the oldest island of this archipelago.
In the north of the island in El Cotillo and Corralejo, the vacationer will find large sandy beaches that invite for swimming and other sports activities.
The capital and at the same time airport is Puerto del Rosario, located in the east of the island. In former times Betancuria was the capital. Further to the south there is the place La Lajita. Here a visit to the OASIS Park is a hot tip for travelling.
Paradise for windsurfers
Only a few kilometres further south is the town of Costa Calma, one of the major tourist centres and also known for its dune landscapes and a paradise for windsurfers. Windsurfing championships take place here every year. A famous windsurfer has his own school here
The Eldorado for sun worshippers
Jandia in the south of the island inspires with seemingly endless very large sandy beaches and is an El Dorado for sun worshippers.
Only a few kilometres away is the harbour town Morro Jable. From here, one can drive to the neighboured island Lanzarote or make different trips by catamaran.
La Pared in the southwest offers a picturesque bay and daily freshly caught fish.
The town of Betancuria in the west, which is very worth seeing, still fascinates not only hikers.
